José Francisco Fernández Álvarez (Paco) is a self-taught painter that after a brief incursion into cubism, works the thematic of the urban landscape or streetscape painting, mainly with the techniques of watercolor and acrylic, trying to capture in his canvases and bristol boards, the environment that surrounds him, its culture and its peoples, not as they really looks but as a personal interpretation, with warm colors that reflect our tropical weather and with high contrasts of lights and shadows.
At the moment he is part of a group of Cuban painters known as “The Prado’s Painters” that expose their art in the central “Paseo del Prado” of Havana.
His works are in multiple personal collections in Canada, United States, England, Spain, France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Australia, etc.…
